Vauxhall Astra H 1.3 CDTi injector seals
Long story short, my car started "chirping" which i traced to a blowing injector. The chirping stopped after a while but i then kept getting exhaust fumes in the car from the air vents. It turned out to be not that hard to do, the main problem is getting the injector out of the hole, but its only held in by the clamp and if its stuck its because of dirt, rust and carbon deposits. Once you get it moving you should be able to prise it up.

Firstly i heard a new noise! then i ran out of coolant a short while later! anyway it was an easy job to do and didn't cost too much.
VAUXHALL/OPEL Astra H radiator change (remove intercooler and electric fan). CDTi. 1.3
Просмотров 18 тыс.Год назад
This is the second time i have had to change the radiator on this car. The first time was when i hit a pheasant and it pushed the intercooler into the rad which then over several months rubbed a hole in the rad. this time its just failed on the corner. Either way its a pain of a job requiring the front to be removed... New rad was £70 (Sept 2023)
VAUXHALL/OPEL ASTRA H/ZAFIRA B rear axle bush replacement. MOT failure.

This is a nasty MOT failure. "Axle swivel pins and bushes swivel pin and/or bush excessively worn Offside Rear [5.1.2(b)(i)]" you can get a tool to help in the removal and refitting but i decided to give it a go. this whole repair took about 7 hours and the spares cost £20.

So glad I watched your video. Last time I did bushes I took the axle off and did it in a vice. This time I dropped one side of the axle at a time and did itbon the car. The screwdriver method is genius and worked a treat. I did have a bush fitting tool so both sides took me 3 hours. Loved the video

It takes 12 minutes to take this off ,Don't listen to this man this is an easy job you don't need any mirror or camera and you don't need to take anything of to get to it just follow the egr down from the electric connection and you will feel the two bolts they are bolted facing the front of the engine and a t45 fits them can be removed in a few minutes and you can see these bolts if you look from the side of the car

I’m just doing this at the mo to my Twintop. For anyone doing it on a Twintop, you need to know that there are two extra chassis brace beams, which bolt to the chassis, which have to be lowered out of the way, in order to drop the rear beam. There are 3 internal torx bolts at the front on each one and 4 at the rear. I completely removed the rear ones and loosened the front ones enough, to allow the beams to drop down out the way. I also didn’t have to disconnect the handbrake cables from the callipers.

Hi, am I right in thinking that's the pipe that connects to the EGR valve ??? My pipe just sprung a leak yesterday and overheated my engine but since there's no temperature gauge ( there's a place in hell reserved for the moron who thought of that idea), the only way i found out was my radiator fan going ballistic, I'm just praying it hasn't warped the head !!!!

The Norma ends go to the heater matrix and one then goes to the EGR and the other goes to the engine, check out this video at 6:25 it shows them all ruclips.net/video/AlG3a279ZT4/видео.html

I love to do things like this and you have at least paved the way to go and give this a go. Thanks and looking forward to the build. One question I had was the way in which you cut out the plywood. Hello, and thanks for your kind comments. For my models i normally use Gorilla glue, and as for the scroll saw.. i treated myself to a cheap Chinese laser cutter and every model from now on will be made using that! I found spending hours cutting bits out on the scroll saw caused me back and neck ache. I have another model hovercraft project to start (a high speed one with active wings etc) but i currently don't have the time to even start it!

Thanks for the video, I have a 2011 1.4 venga 3 diesel with 117,000 miles on the clock. I am wondering whether to do an oil change before driving back from portugal to the UK (1600 miles). The Car was serviced and had oil and filter changed in November last year before I drove down here (4 days of 400 miles per day) so overall it's done about 2200 miles since oil was last changed. Does the diesel filter need changing and what difference does that make to the running of the car.
